[...] New Zealand born director of IMO, Sam Haughton, has been designing furniture since 1992. Giving great care and thought to the way in which furniture functions and the way we use it, Haughton’s intelligent designs create products which last a lifetime. In June this year his A2 stool for IMO won the top prize in HOME magazine’s New Zealand Design Awards following it’s appearance at Fisher & Paykel’s pop-up installation The Social Kitchen (featured earlier here at Mint). The A2 stool was commissioned especially for the event which called for a “light, cost-effective and colourful seat that would compliment the one-off custom ‘Fiord’ table” (also from IMO). We totally love its simplicity of form, the bold range of colours and its versatility; it’s stackable and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The perfect stool for any room of the house. Right now you can be in to win one of your own by simply signing up for IMO’s monthly newsletter here. [...]
